We work in countries where large populations experience extreme poverty and chronic hunger, and where wide disparities of wealth marginalize many. Our focus is on rural regions where poverty and hunger are at their worst.
We are headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices in the U.S., Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Our offices serve as regional hubs, enabling us to build partnerships and programs in neighboring countries.
The integration of Grameen Foundation and Freedom from Hunger in October 2016 expanded our geographic footprint in Latin America and Africa, and our combined work now directly supports poverty elimination in 16 countries. Partners of Grameen Foundation and Freedom From Hunger continue to implement our programs in an additional 13 countries.

Asia
Working in several Asian countries, we are finding new ways to connect poor communities, particularly women, to a range of financial and health services.
Latin America
Grameen Foundation has worked in Latin America and the Caribbean since 1999, focusing on the poorest people, living in remote rural areas.
Middle East & North Africa
Grameen Foundation has supported microfinance across the Middle East and North Africa, including through Grameen-Jameel Microfinance Limited and our Bankers without Borders program.
Sub-Saharan Africa
We address some of the biggest challenges facing the region’s rural poor. Aimed at smallholder farmers and women’s savings groups, our programs provide access to finance, markets, and to agricultural and health information and services.
